Macao issuing T8 at 5 p.m. with 942 people being evacuated

In neighbouring Macao, Typhoon Signal No. 3 is in effect.
Local authorities say it will issue Typhoon Signal No. 8 at 5 p.m.
According to Macao's Meteorological Bureau, there is a high chance that the enclave will elevate the warning to Signal No. 9 in the early hours of Wednesday morning with a possible upgrade to Signal No. 10 in the early morning of Wednesday.
Macao also began evacuation efforts in low-lying areas starting this early afternoon. They include senior citizens with reduced mobility.
Authorities say a total of 942 people or 361 households have to be evacuated.
They encompass 25 hotels and two casinos, as well as staff dormitories and elderly care homes.
During the typhoon, 17 shelters will be open in Macao.
