Super Typhoon Ragasa to reach within 100 kilometres of Macao on Wednesday

The Tropical Cyclone Signal No. 1 is currently in effect in Macao, and is set to be replaced by Signal No. 3 tomorrow morning.
Local authorities noted there is an increased likelihood of issuing Signal No. 8 between tomorrow afternoon and night.
This as all entertainment facilities in the enclave will cease operations after the No. 8 signal comes into effect.
Weather authorities say it's possible that Ragasa will reach within 100 kilometres of Macao during the early hours of Wednesday.
The super typhoon is expected to bring about strong winds reaching force 12 on the Beaufort wind scale.
Flooding is also expected to reach levels similar to that of Typhoon Hato in 2017 and Typhoon Mangkhut in 2018.
Meanwhile, mainland weather authorities issued an orange typhoon warning earlier today.
Authorities have banned large cargo vessels from entering a number of Guangdong ports starting at 2 a.m.
Trains are also grinding to a halt.
