Turkey's main opposition party, CHP, re-elected leader Ozgur Ozel at a special congress designed to combat what it says is a move by the government to destroy the party.
Ozel and the president of the party told delegates to go the booths and give the leader the backing and protection he needs.
A court is set to rule next month on allegations of bribes, corruption and financial irregularities that stem from CHP's congress in 2023.
Ozel received over 90 percent of leadership votes.
CHP says with a new mandate, Ozel will be protected against any ruling.
The government headed by President Recep Tayyip Erdogan has attacked CHP, calling it "tainted and fraudulent."
CHP member and mayor of Istanbul, Ekrem Imamoglu, has been jailed and is facing corruption charges.
This has paved the way for Ozel to become a prominent voice against Erdogan.
