Iran warned that its cooperation with the United Nations nuclear watchdog, International Atomic Energy Agency, will "effectively be suspended" if international sanctions on the country are reinstated.

The move came after the U.N. Security Council voted down a proposal to permanently lift the curbs.

Last month, France, Britain and Germany launched a 30-day "snapback" process to reimpose an arms embargo on Iran and a ban on uranium enrichment and reprocessing, among other sanctions.

They claim that Tehran failed to abide by a 2015 Joint Comprehensive Plan of Action aimed at preventing it from developing nuclear weapons.

Iran's Supreme National Security Council denied having any such intention.

President Masoud Pezeshkian vowed Iran can overcome any return of the sanctions and will not submit to excessive demands.

He pointed out the Natanz and Fordow nuclear installations attacked by the U.S. in June were built by Iranian researchers, who have the capability to rebuild them.
