Macao authorities have urged the public to make "immediate preparations" including securing three days' supply of drinking water and non-perishable food in anticipation of the looming storm.

Macao authorities caution that water and power outages may occur during the typhoon.

Residents are also advised to stock up on medicines, flashlights and other essentials.

They further appealed to residents to check and reinforce windows, scaffolding and other wind-and-flood-prone areas, especially in low-lying districts.

The enclave's meteorological authorities predict that Ragasa will move into the South China Sea from Monday afternoon to evening.
