Carlson Chan no longer head of Logistics Department after bottled water fiasco

The government announced today that Carlson Chan has ceased to serve as the Director of the Government Logistics Department and will take pre-retirement leave. Deputy Director Avia Lai will act as interim director.
The government awarded a bottled water procurement contract to Xindingxin Trading, which is suspected of supplying counterfeit water.
The person in charge of Xingdingxin has been arrested and charged with fraud.
Meanwhile, the Financial Services and the Treasury Bureau has set up a task force to review the government procurement system.
The matter has also been handed over to the Audit Commission for an independent review, but no results have been announced yet.
