In the U.S., Utah Governor Spencer Cox said the suspect arrested in the shooting death of right-wing activist Charlie Kirk is not cooperating with authorities.
Investigators are working to establish a motive for the shooting by talking to suspect's friends and family.
The accused gunman, 22-year-old Tyler Robinson, remains in custody in Utah and will be formally charged on Tuesday.
Meanwhile, senior Republican figures gathered at the Kennedy Center in Washington Sunday evening to pay tribute to Kirk.
A large screen hung at the back of the stage at the Kennedy Center showing clips of Charlie Kirk's speeches, events and news interviews.
Senior Republican figures in attendance paid tribute to Kirk Sunday.
U.S. House Speaker Mike Johnson said: "It's as if a dark shadow was cast over our country. And certainly here, even on Capitol Hill. The leaders of the nation have been shaken, as have university students and college students, young people all across the country. It's as if the ground was shifted beneath us."
U.S. Health Secretary Robert F. Kennedy Jr. said: "I had a conversation once with Charlie where we were talking about the danger that we both faced from challenging entrenched interests, and he asked me if I was scared to die. And I said to him, 'There's a lot worse things than dying (applause) and one of those... and chief among those is losing our constitutional rights, and having our children raised in slavery.'"
U.S. President Donald Trump said he will be attending Charlie Kirk's memorial which will be held on September 21st by Kirk's conservative organisation Turning Point in Phoenix, Arizona.
U.S. President Donald Trump said: "I'll be going on early Sunday morning. We're going to Arizona, taking some people with us on Air Force One."
Utah Governor Spencer Cox told Fox New's Meet the Press that the 22-year-old suspect Tyler Robinson has been uncooperative while in custody but others have been speaking up.
Utah Governor Spencer Cox said: "According to family and people that we're interviewing, he does come from a conservative family, but his ideology was very different than his family. And so that's part of it. We do know that the roommate that we had originally talked about, we can confirm that that roommate is a boyfriend who is transitioning from male to female. So we know that piece. I will say that that person has been very cooperative with authorities."
But authorities have not said whether it is relevant as they investigate Robinson's motive.
Meanwhile, a door security camera captured footage of the suspect in Kirk's assassination driving through an Orem, Utah neighbourhood before leaving his vehicle and walking by foot on the day of the shooting.
The suspect, Tyler Robinson, has been ordered by a judge to be held in custody without bail.
