Sinovac vaccine newly added into government programme

The flu season is here, and the Department of Health has included inactivated vaccine from the manufacturer Sinovac into the government vaccincation programme for the first time.
The new round of Seasonal Influenza Vaccination Programmes will commence on September 25th.
Four vaccines will be offered, and Sinovac is one of the two newly-added ones.
Lau Yu-lung, chairman of the Scientific Committee on Vaccine Preventable Diseases under the Centre for Health Protection believes, the China-made vaccine is safe and effective.
He also said procuring vaccines from different sources could ensure a stable supply.
