Flu vaccination programme to start on Sept 25th

Hong Kong recorded 33 school influenza outbreaks in the last four days.
To tackle the seasonal influenza outbreak, the 2025/26 Seasonal Influenza Vaccination Programmes will commence on September 25th.
23 schools have said they will not take part, citing reasons such as insufficient facilities and manpower.
However some legislative councillors are not convinced.
According to the Department of Health, some 2,300 schools will engage in the outreach programme.
Regarding the 23 non-participating schools, lawmaker Lawrence Tang said the vaccination services will mainly be provided by outreach teams, while vaccination shouldn't take up too much space.
He suggested collecting opinions from parents by questionnaire.
Meanwhile, parents can arrange vaccination for their children at private clinics.
Under the Vaccination Subsidy Scheme, each dose has a subsidy of 260 dollars.
Most doctors will not charge additionally.
