Bid-rigging suspected in 25 building maintenance projects, competition watchdog probe underway

The Competition Commission is targeting two alleged bid-rigging syndicates for investigation, involving 25 building maintenance projects worth over 600 million dollars.
The commission obtained search warrants and searched 19 premises yesterday and today, including the offices of nine project contractors and the homes of the individuals involved.
The operation found syndicate members allegedly manipulating the tendering process by exchanging and coordinating bidding prices, either directly or through intermediaries.
The 25 building maintenance projects include 23 residential estates and two industrial buildings.
