Development Bureau: No implementation timetable set for Kau Yi Chau artificial island project

The Development Bureau said no implementation timetable has been set for the Kau Yi Chau artificial island project, and conditions are not right for the commencement of reclamation work within the current government term.
In a written response to a Legislative Council question, Secretary for Development Bernadette Lin said the Kau Yi Chau project is currently in the early planning and research stages.
But she said the project is accorded a "lower priority" as the government will focus on developing the Northern Metropolis.
She said, "We do not have the necessary conditions for the reclamation project to be carried out within this term of government."
