China, Mongolia and Russia staged their first joint border defence exercise on Monday and Tuesday in a bid to strengthen coordination against terrorist and sabotage activities in border regions.
The live drill, code-named "Border Defense Cooperation 2025," was held in a frontier area where the three countries meet.
The three militaries have established a joint command post in China and engaged in activities including joint planning, reconnaissance, and strikes, testing a new model of border defence cooperation.
The operation also featured the training of robotic dogs and military dogs on the Russian territory, with a focus on obstacle navigation, drug search and explosives detection.
