Israel says "two terrorists" killed six people as gunmen fired on a bus stop in Jerusalem.
At least 12 people were wounded.
It comes as Israel continues to deepen its stranglehold on Gaza City by targeting high-rise residences.
Attackers opened fire at a bus stop at a busy intersection in Jerusalem just after 10 a.m.
Bullet holes could be seen in the front windows of the vehicle.
Police say the attackers shot at commuters who were waiting at the stop.
Israeli media reports the attackers boarded and continued firing inside.
Broken glass was seen on the pavement, victims were seen lying unconscious.
Men in their 30s and 50s are known to have died.
Two attackers were killed.
Soldiers are searching the surrounding area.
Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu came to the scene of the shooting.He said: "We are at war, against terror.I send my condolences to the families of the murdered and wish a recovery to the wounded.but the war continues, also in the Gaza Strip.
It comes against the backdrop of Netanyahu's military intensifying attacks on Hamas in Gaza and with U.S. President Donald Trump saying earlier there is a possibility of peace.
Having issued what he called a "final warning " to Hamas, Trump delayed talking to reporters, saying he was mediating.
Trump said:We're working on a solution that maybe, could be very good.
Reporter: Could you tell us what that solution is?
"No, but you'll be hearing about it pretty soon," Trump replied: "We're trying to get it ended, get the hostages back. We got 'em all back but 20 and as you know we have 20 plus,there are a lot of, unfortunately, dead bodies involved and they want 'em back. The parents want them back. So we had some very good discussions. Good things could happen."
The loved ones of hostages among the tens of thousands who thronged several Israeli cities over the weekend to protest over what they say is Netanyahu's insistence on prioritising hunting down Hamas over bringing hostages home.
As air strikes continued, Hamas appeared to back up Trump.
The militant group saying they are ready to discuss releasing all hostages in exchange for an end to the war,as long as there is a full Israeli withdrawal.
They also want an independent Palestinian committee to govern.
Hamas and Gaza remain under siege.

The Roya Tower the latest to be demolished in Israel's campaign.
A third bombed in three days.
Israel again gave an evacuation order.
Though some people can be seen running away from the explosion.
Israel's military has urged Palestinians to flee to safe zones in the south but many have stayed, saying the south is no safer than Gaza City.
With the seven-storey building completely destroyed,some returned to the blast site to survey the rubble as the dust settled.
