Israel blew up another high-rise building in Gaza City giving residents less than an hour to evacuate.

Israel's military say it was being used by Hamas, this is denied by the militant group.

Residents and displaced Palestinians scoured the remains of the destroyed building scavenging for items.

Israel's Defence Minister Israel Katz proudly posting the moment when Sousi Tower in Gaza City comes crashing down.

The Israeli military struck and the building was decimated.

Katz captioned: "We continue."

The evacuation order was given and it appears everyone inside got out before Israel planes razed the high-rise to the ground.

The second block in Gaza City taken down in two days.

"We were at home and people started shouting," says Aida Abu Kas, "They called our neighbour and told him to evacuate within 20 minutes. There was screaming and running."

Israeli Military spokesperson Avichay Adraee told Palestinians to move to south safe zones away from Gaza City as Israel steps up its campaign on the town and against Hamas.

Adraee accuses Hamas of using these towers.

Hamas denies this.

Sousi is now no good to anyone.

A large pile of twisted rubble and crumpled concrete.

People tried to gather items from what remains.

Not much, in a desperate scene of devastation.

Residents scoured the rubble.

Less than an hour earlier this had been a 15-storey building of Palestinian homes.

Survivors reduced to shifting through rubble with their bare hands.

Some, already displaced, were living in tents in the shadow of the destroyed building.

They'd refused to move south.

They fear it is not safe.

Nadia says: "Displaced from the north we came to Gaza living in a tent. The whole row of tents were destroyed.
We heard the evacuation order and left before the strike. Tents aren't safe, houses aren't safe, there is no safe place anywhere."

In Israel, having seen the latest devastation and desperation in Gaza. more took to the streets to protest over the conduct of their government.

Thousands again, this weekend, gathering in Hostage Square to call for the return captives.

Foreign Minister Gideon Saar says the war could end if hostages were released and Hamas laid downs its weapons, but if they don't agree to conditions, Israel can push harder.

Saar speaking hours after Hamas reiterated its long-standing stance that it would free all hostages only if Israel ends the war.
