In Macao, the Tropical Cyclone Signal No. 3 is still in effect.
The weather authorities there will upgrade the signal to a No. 8 at 9 p.m.
Meanwhile, on the mainland, Beijing's meteorological centre issued a typhoon alert and forecast that Tapah will make landfall around Zhuhai and Zhanjiang between the early hours of tomorrow and the afternoon.
All schools were suspended in Zhuhai at 2 p.m. today.
Guangxi is expected to see squally showers in the next three days.
Thirty ferry service routes were suspended in Guangdong.
