Car accident in Xinjiang, killing one and injuring three Hong Kongers

A Hong Kong tourist died and three others were injured in a car accident in Xinjiang.
The Travel Industry Authority said it was notified by Travel Circle International on Friday that a Hong Kong tour group of 20 people had travelled to Xinjiang for a 18-day trip in August.
On Wednesday, the tourists were divided into groups of four for a road trip on China National Highway 217. Four tourists from two families were later involved in a car accident.
One was pronounced dead, while the rest received treatment at a local hospital.
The Authority immediately contacted the Immigration Department and relevant Xinjiang departments.
In a statement, Travel Circle International said the company had deployed staff to Xinjiang on the day of the accident and offered assistance to the victim's family.
