A 30-year-old man from the mainland failed to appear in court twice over charges for allegedly lying about his academic credentials. The court has issued an arrest warrant of the man and ordered the confiscation of the defendant's 200,000-dollar cash bail and 100,000-dollar surety.

Che Yuyi claimed that he graduated from Monash University in Australia with a bachelor's degree in commerce when applying for a visa under the Top Talent Pass Scheme in 2023.

He was charged with making a false statement to the Immigration Department.

He was absent in the hearing and was supposed to appear in Sha Tin Court on Wednesday.
