With the Jockey Club's new racing season on the horizon, the HKJC unveiled its two new facilities today set to be open to visitors on the 7th of this month.

This as the Jockey Club said it will invest another 4 billion dollars in the next phase of a scheme to transform its racecourses into world-class sports and entertainment centres.
Fans of horse racing will soon get the chance to meet and interact with some of the city's greatest racehorses such as three-time Hong Kong Horse of the Year Golden Sixty
via cutting-edge digital technology.

In its latest move to attract more tourists to the Sha Tin Racecourse, the HKJC unveiled its new Champions Connection and Genso Eki facilities -- following a facelift of the club's original betting hall.

Located at the gateway between the Racecourse MTR Station and the racecourse's Grandstand II, the Champions Connection facility offers visitors a wide range of snacks and the Jockey Club's trademark pop-up kiosks, while Genso Eki, the club's pioneering four-storey digital horse racing hub, allows visitors to learn more about horse racing culture through digital racing experiences and gamified learning activities.

The facility further enhances visitors' experience by introducing interactive AI horse selection stations, giving revellers a deeper analysis of their favourite horse's strong suit.

Having attained a turnover surpassing 320 billion dollars in wagering and lotteries, over the course of the previous financial year, the HKJC believes there will be new breakthroughs in the coming year and is directing its focus towards long-term development.

WINFRIED ENGELBRECHT-BRESGES, CEO, Hong Kong Jockey Club: "Hong Kong horse racing has a long heritage and it's rooted in the community. There's an interest in racing as a sport from a fan perspective. But the sport of horse racing is for many, a little bit difficult to understand. So, we have to make it easier and accessible. When you look at the success of Formula One, it is not only about the sport, it's about the whole atmosphere you create. This is the direction we're heading."

Starting on the 7th of this month, visitors at the Jockey Club's Sha Tin Racecourse will get to see new technological attractions such as this robotic horse. The HKJC noted that overseas and mainland visitors carrying passports or other identification documents can enter the new facility free of charge.
