Suspected arson and suicide at Elegance Garden in Tuen Mun

A residential unit in Fu Tei of Tuen Mun went up in flame with a man having fallen from a height. The police have classified the case as arson and suicide.
At about 4 a.m., the police received a report over a burning smell suspected to be coming from a unit on the first block of Tower 1 of Elegence Garden. Firefighters had to force their way into the unit to douse the flame.
More than 120 residents were evacuated. Some had to bring their pet cat with them while being rushing to safety.
A security guard later found a man lying unconscious on the ground floor. He was suspected to have fallen from a height. The police later discovered a suicide note.
