At least 31 people were killed in the latest Israeli attacks on Gaza.

Israel says it does not target civilians and rejects claims by a leading group of academics that it is committing genocide.

Meanwhile, Belgium says it will recognise a Palestinian State at the U.N. General Assembly later this month.

Israel launches strikes across Gaza, killing dozens of Palestinians as it presses ahead with its pursuit of Hamas and desire to occupy Gaza City.

In the city of Deir Al-Balah in Central Gaza,screams heard from above, as on the ground displaced people living in a camp scatter.

An upturned pot of food -- such a precious commodity in Gaza -- seems to have been discarded in a hurry.

At the Aqsa Hospital, the stretcher is taken from the back of the vehicle.

Bystanders film on their phones. They want these scenes to be seen.

Overnight, the bombs kept falling as flares and explosion filled the night sky.

A Palestinian doctor called it another "merciless night."

The International Association of Genocide Scholars, in a resolution, says Israel has met the U.N.'s legal definition for committing a genocide.

Israel rejects this, saying it only targets Hamas.

Israel and its people are suffering too.

The funeral of hostage Idan Shtivi.

His remains were recovered by Israel's military last week.

His mother holds on to the coffin for one last goodbye.

Shtivi was 28 when he was kidnapped by Hamas from the Nova music festival in October, 2023.

His family and the hundreds who gathered never saw him again.

In Europe, a flotilla delivering aid to Palestinians left Barcelona earlier
but has had to restart its journey after delays caused by storms.

The political winds in Europe seem to be shifting.

More nations openly condemning Israel's actions.

Belgium says it will recognise a Palestinian state at next week's UN General Assembly.

The deputy prime minister of Belgium says the decision came in the light of the "humanitarian tragedy unfolding in Palestine."

It came as Israel says it could annex the West Bank in a direct response to nations announcing they will recognise a Palestinian State.
