President Xi proposes Global Governance Initiative at SCO+ meeting

When chairing the "Shanghai Cooperation Organization Plus" Meeting, President Xi Jinping proposed the Global Governance Initiative (GGI).
He highlighted five principles for the initiative. They include adhering to sovereign equality for all countries, regardless of size and wealth to be equal decision-makers and beneficiaries in global governance.
Also spotlighted: abiding by international rule of law, including the United Nations Charter with no double standards and practising multilateralism.
Xi also called on the advocacy of a people-centred approach in global governance to better tackle common challenges for human society while focusing on taking "real actions."
The global governance proposals mark the fourth landmark global initiative put forward by Xi, following his earlier proposed Global Development Initiative and the Global Security Initiative.
