Shanghai Cooperation Organisation summit banquet gathers world dignitaries

The Shanghai Cooperation Organisation or SCO summit kicked off in Tianjin on Sunday.
President Xi Jinping says the world has witnessed more uncertainties -- which also means the SCO shoulders even more important responsibilities to ensure peace and stability in the region.
Xi and First Lady Peng Liyuan hosted a banquet tonight welcoming dignitaries attending the summit.
They include Russian President Vladimir Putin, and Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi as well as United Nations Secretary-General Antonio Guterres.
At the banquet, Xi says since the SCO's establishment, member states have maintained trust with each other.
He said with the efforts of all sides rallying the forces of the Global South, the body will see more achievements to driving progress for all humanity.
