MPF administrative charges likely to decrease further as eMPF improves efficiency

The eMPF platform has been in operation for over a year, and the Mandatory Provident Fund Schemes Authority, or MPFA, expects related administrative fees to decrease further.
In her blog, MPFA Chairwoman Ayesha Macpherson Lau noted
that to date, eight trustees managing a total of 15 MPF schemes have joined the eMPF platform.
The platform has already processed over 1 million administrative instructions.
Once all MPF schemes are integrated into the platform, the administrative fees for nearly 85 percent of the funds will be reduced to no more than the current level of 37 basis points, benefiting over 10 million member accounts, accounting for more than 90 percent of all accounts.
Looking at the platform's past operations, she noted there has been a significant improvement in efficiency in handling administrative work.
It is anticipated that administrative fees will further decrease to 20 to 25 basis points in the future.
