Xi and Modi meet in Tianjin as Shanghai Cooperation Organisation starts

President Xi Jinping and Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi have held a meeting in the northern Chinese port city of Tianjin.
Modi is in China for the first time in seven years to attend a two-day meeting of the Shanghai Cooperation Organisation.
Russian President Vladimir Putin and leaders from Central Asia, Southeast Asia, South Asia, and the Middle East will also attend.
Xi also welcomed the leaders from Maldives, Azerbaijan, and Armenia as they gathered in Tianjin for the SCO summit.
Xi held talks with Maldivian President Mohamed Muizz, Azerbaijan President Ilham Aliyev and Armenian Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan.
The three nations are among 14 that serve as "dialogue partners" of the SCO.
SCO was established by China, Russia, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan and Tajikistan and later expanded to include members such as India, Iran, Pakistan and Belarus.
