Chief Executive John Lee continued his district visits to gather the public's views ahead of his upcoming Policy Address, which will be unveiled in less than three weeks.

He visited the Eastern District where he interacted with some elderly residents, hoping to better understand their life.

Chief Executive John Lee made his first stop at Oi Tung Estate in Shau Kei Wan at around 10:30 this morning.

Accompanied by Secretary for Labour and Welfare Chris Sun and Secretary for Home and Youth Affairs Alice Mak, Lee visited some senior citizens who are living alone, and helped one measure her blood pressure.

After the half-hour home visit, Lee chatted with people in the neighbourhood.

He asked this man for his opinions on public transport services. He also said senior residents should go out more and make more new friends.

This woman, who spoke to the CE, told reporters that she hopes to see more fitness equipment for the elderly in the district.

She also complained how difficult it is to make an appointment at public clinics by phone.

Meanwhile, this resident told the CE that she had to look after her disabled husband.

Lee said Care Teams would provide assistance for people in need.

The CE said as of the end of last month, Care Teams visited nearly 30,000 "hidden" households, such as elderly singletons, families of elderly doubletons and carers.

With over 900 case referrals, John Lee expressed satisfaction at the Care Teams' performance, adding that the volunteers were getting more familiar with the needs of the neighbourhood.

Lee then headed to Tung Wah Group of Hospitals Fong Shu Chuen Social Service Building, where he shared soft meals with some elderly residents, and try out some techological products together.

Chief Executive John Lee stayed at the facility for around 50 minutes.

Before wrapping up his community tour, Lee visited the Museum of the War of Resistance and Coastal Defence.

The group of officials toured the exhibition that commemorates the 80th anniversary of victory in the war of resistance.

This is the second consecutive Saturday that John Lee conducted a community visit.

He said listening to voices from the public allows him to better understand what is needed in society.

He revealed that he would pay another visit to the public before releasing his fourth policy blueprint on September 17.
