A 31-year-old woman made a report to police after being left with an 80,000 dollar dinner bill at Mandarin Oriental hotel, following the disappearance of her dining partner.

Police classifed the case as "request for police assistance."

Sources said the incident happened at a Chinese restaurant at the hotel. Besides the meal, the man ordered an expensive French 2002 bottle of wine.

Police received a call last night, when a woman said she was deceived by a man who claimed to be a lawyer.

When the meal came to an end, she said the man excused himself to go the washroom and did not return.

He has since disappeared and cannot be contacted.

It is understood that the pair knew each other through social media platform Telegram one year ago.
