Australia, Canada and the Philippines deployed three warships and aircrafts for drills off a South China Sea shoal on Wednesday.
The move drew strong criticism from Beijing.
The Philippine military said the naval drills were concluded safely, and didn't mention any encounter with Chinese ships off Huangyan Island.
The ships involved were an Australian navy guided-missile destroyer, a Canadian navy frigate, and a Philippine navy guided-missile frigate.
China's defence ministry criticised the Philippines today, saying the country is hampering peace in the South China Sea.
Beijing has repeatedly warned it would defend the shoal, which has long been Chinese territory.
