Superstar singer Taylor Swift is engaged to her boyfriend, Kansas City Chiefs tight end Travis Kelce, culminating a two-year courtship that fascinated fans around the world.
While no wedding date has been announced yet, U.S. President Donald Trump offered well-wishes to the couple.
He said: "I wish them a lot of luck. I think he's a great player, and he's a great guy, and I think she's a terrific person."
A Taylor Swift fan said: "I think it's been an absolutely exciting time and exciting last two hours of figuring out this news. Honestly, it's so exciting. It's the stuff that she wrote about as a teenager all coming to life as a true fairy tale."
Mike Danna, Kansas City Chiefs defensive end, said: "I'm so happy for them - Trav, Taylor, that's a wonderful time in their life. A wonderful part of their journey. So that's a beautiful thing to see."
A Kansas City resident said: "It's literally like America's version of a royal wedding, if you will."
The engagement was announced on Tuesday in a joint Instagram post with caption that read: "Your English teacher and your gym teacher are getting married."
Kelce's team congratulated the fiances, both 35 years old, and welcomed Taylor to be a permanent member of the Chiefs Kingdom family.
The two began dating in 2023 after one of the music icon's Eras Tour performances in Kansas City. Since then, they have made public appearances at each other's concerts and games.
