Two people arrested at the port after attempts to illegal smuggle kittens into HK

At the Hong Kong Port of the Hong Kong-Zhuhai-Macao Bridge, customs uncovered two kittens being smuggled into the city with a market value of about 30,000 dollars.
Customs seized two handbags carrying two kittens in the private car entering Hong Kong on Monday.
The 42-year-old male driver and the 38-year-old female passenger were arrested on the spot.
Anyone who illegally imports animals is liable to a maximum one year's imprisonment and a fine of 50,000 dollars.
