14th suspect in connection with a prison officer assault rounded up at the border

A suspect in connection with a 2024 assault case against a prison officer was arrested at the border on Monday after he fled to the mainland. Altogether, 14 suspects have been rounded up in relation to the case.
The police took the 25-year-old suspect to Pik Uk Prison in the afternoon for a crime scene reconstruction.
The police could be seen simulating the attack and the victim with a mannequin.
The incident occurred on November 1st last year when a prison officer left Pik Uk Prison after work and was struck by three masked men while he was waiting for the bus outside the facility.
The victim suffered multiple lacerations and a fractured wrist.
So far, eight of the 14 suspects have been prosecuted. Two more people are believed to be still at large.
