Starting Tuesday, private cars with Closed Road Permits at Heung Yuen Wai boundary control point can cross the boundary via Lok Ma Chau between midnight and 6.30 a.m.
The policy relaxation is to facilitate cross-boundary private cars with Heung Yuen Wai boundary control point quotas to cross the border outside its operating hours,
The Transport Department has sent letters to notify permit holders about the arrangements.
Currently, only cross-boundary private cars with permits of Shenzhen Bay Port, Man Kam To and Sha Tau Kok boundary control point can use Lok Ma Chau border checkpoint overnight.
