Financial Secretary Paul Chan said now is the best time for Hong Kong and the Middle East to deepen ties.
Writing on his weekly blog, the finance chief said he was at Hong Kong Stadium to watch the Saudi Super Cup final on Saturday night.
He observed that links between the two places extended beyond finance and commerce, but also sports, culture and arts.
With China eagar to foster ties with the Global South, Chan believes Hong Kong can leverage its role as a "super connecter."
