The Saudi Super Cup final took place at Hong Kong Stadium tonight where Portuguese football star Cristiano Ronaldo converted a penalty for his team Al-Nassr.

However, the team was held to a 2-2 draw in regulation time by Al-Ahli.

After extra time ended with no winner, Al-Ahli triumphed 5-3 in the penalty shootout, being crowned Saudi Super Cup champions for the first time since 2016.

Secretary for Culture, Sports & Tourism Rosanna Law says Hong Kong will see greater exchanges with Arab countries with more Muslim-friendly amenities.

ROSANNA LAW, Secretary for Culture, Sports & Tourism: "It is challenging for the (sports) ground to be used for three consecutive very exciting games within a week. That is something that we will have to continue improving and continue making it better. But from what I heard so far from the organisers and from the teams themselves, they enjoy overall the hospitality, the organisation and the arrangement of Hong Kong and they look forward to coming back in future."
