Russia struck an American electronics manufacturer in western Ukraine in an overnight attack causing serious damage and casualties, the Ukrainian foreign minister said.
This as Poland's defense minister said a flying object that crashed and exploded in a cornfield in eastern Poland early Wednesday was identified as a Russian drone. He called it a provocation by Moscow.
Tracey Furniss has more.
Fire brigade, police and military were seen at the site where a Russian drone crashed into a cornfield in Osiny, eastern Poland.
The country's deputy prime minister flanked by top generals said "this was another provocation carried out by the Russian Federation, it was a Russian drone."
He accused Moscow of provoking NATO during a crucial moment as peace talks over the war in neighbouring Ukraine are underway.
This as Russia fired a barrage of drones at Ukraine's Sumy region overnight, injuring over a dozen people and destroying several houses.
The Okhtyrka area suffered the heaviest damage, as Russian drones rained down on a residential area.
An Air Force report said Russia fired two ballistic Iskander missiles and 93 strike and decoy drones across Ukraine.
Odesa was also attacked, causing massive fires and injuring at least one person. The State Emergency Service said a fire damaged a fuel and energy infrastructure facility.
More than 54 emergency workers and 16 units of equipment were involved in battling the flames.
Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov said Russia was in favour of "truly reliable" guarantees for Ukraine modelled on a draft accord discussed in Istanbul in 2022 between the two warring parties.
Under the draft discussed then Ukraine would have received security guarantees from a group of countries including the five permanent members of the UN Security Council - China, Russia, the United States, Britain and France.
At the time Kyiv rejected the proposal on the ground that Moscow would have held effective veto power over any military response.
Lavrov also commented on the initiatives of European leaders to create collective security guarantees for Ukraine that they made after the summit in Washington.
"We cannot agree with the fact that it is now proposed to resolve collective security issues without Russia," Lavrov said.
He called the discussions on security issues without Russia "utopia" and "the road to nowhere."
