Hundreds of miles across, Hurricane Erin hits all states on the U.S. east coast

NBC News reports the outer bands of Hurricane Erin are already hitting the east coast of the United States with North Carolina's outer banks hit hard as residents have already evacuated the area.

The storm is hundreds of miles wide putting all the states on the east coast on high alert.
