Xi Jinping attends event celebrating Xizang's 60th anniversary

A celebration marking the 60th anniversary of the founding of the Xizang Autonomous Region was held in Lhasa.
The ceremony took place in Potala Palace Square this morning.
President Xi Jinping led a central delegation to the event.
Also in attendance were some 20,000 officials and residents from Zizang.
Vice Premier Zhang Guoqing, Deputy Head of the Central Delegation, read out congratulatory messages from the CPC Central Committee and the State Council.
The Central Delegation presented the Tibet Autonomous Region with a congratulatory plaque inscribed by President Xi.
In his speech, Wang Huning, Head of the Central Delegation, emphasized that Xizang must unwaveringly uphold and strengthen the CPC's overall leadership to consolidate Xizang's harmonious and stable social situation.
