A recipe for the seniors -- and those with chewing or swallowing difficulties.
Several organisations have joined forces to roll out a soft-meal version of the Chinese classic dish, "Buddha Jumps Over the Wall."
The soft-serve abalone, scallops and mushrooms are made in accordance with Level 5 of the International Dietary Standard for Dysphagia Disorders.
The dish took six months to develop by Sik Sik Yuen, the Institute of Vocational Education and the Chinese Culinary Institute. It debuted at a longevity banquet for seniors, including elderly centre residents.
Some chefs and students at the culinary school also demonstrated ways to cook other soft serve meals on site, including tangyuan, or sweet rice dumplings.
