Beijing will hold a military parade on September 3, and authorities say preparations are essentially complete.
The parade's leadership office said the event will be conducted in two phases: a parade and a march-past, lasting approximately 70 minutes.
During the parade, participating troops will line up along Chang'an Avenue to be inspected by President Xi Jinping, who is also General Secretary of the Communist Party of China and Chairman of the Central Military Commission. During the march-past, troops will march in formation through Tiananmen Square.
Authorities stated that the weapons and equipment for the parade were selected from among China's current main battle equipment, with the majority being new equipment.
