Hurricane Erin moving closer to U.S. east coast with its effects already being felt

NBC News reports Hurricane Erin is churning over the Atlantic Ocean, growing in size as it makes its way north.  Although still hundreds of miles away from the U.S. east coast, the effects of the storm are already being felt. North Carolina has declared a state of emergency as others have been evacuated.
