A growing number of companies have benefited from InvestHK's efforts to assist overseas start-ups to settle in the city and expand their presence in the Asia market over the past few years.

This as representatives of several of these companies shared how the local government has continued to offer them support by providing business opportunities and connections.

Generated through the use of AI, this promotional clip for Hong Kong was created by a French fintech company, which used the technology to transform written content provided by InvestHK into a music video.

The company had earlier won awards in the promotional industry in the Asia Pacific region for its ability to use AI to instantly generate various interactive ads on financial data and translate them to languages such as French, Arabic and English.

Just two years ago, the French start-up opened an office in the city after winning InvestHK's Global FastTrack Award.

FLORIAN LANG, Founder, Libertify: "The choice we have made to start to deploy from Hong Kong for us is natural. Business opportunities are very fast, market is also integrating, latest policies, latest trends very fast. Much faster than other ones."

Meanwhile, an Italian food importer and distributor has built up a local client base of close to 1,000 after setting up a 17,000-square foot logistics warehouse in Tsing Yi two years ago.

This as the company aims to use the city as its springboard to expand its reach to Shenzhen and other mainland markets.

MICHELE BERNACCHIA, General Manager, Brightview Trading: "It was more the gateway from China. Because to have the brand in Hong Kong means a lot of opportunities also for the main interests to enter in China, because the volume is huge."

With both companies taking advantage of Hong Kong's international reputation for financial services and delicacies, InvestHK is determined to further boost the city's ingenuity and use of AI under its Global Fast Track programme.
