Immigration raids reveal illegal workers hired at HK restaurants

The Immigration Department arrested six suspected illegal workers and five employers after raiding more than 80 locations, including restaurants over two consecutive days.
The six workers, aged 25 to 54, included five non-ethnic Chinese and one mainland Chinese, who were allegedly employed as dishwashers, waiters and shop assistants. The employers arrested were aged 33 to 66.
Investigations revealed that a dishwashing contractor allegedly arranged illegal workers to work at local restaurants.
Authorities have not ruled out further arrests.
