A union representing some 10,000 flight attendents at Air Canada has called for a strike, leading to flight interuptions.

Some flights travelling between Hong Kong and Canada were canceled.

Information from the Airport Authority shows four flights connecting Hong Kong and Canada today and tomorrow were canceled.

Air Canada says passengers who have booked to travel from August 15 to 19 will be able to change their flights to another date between August 21 and September 12 for free, if they purchased the tickets no later than August 14.

The airline will rebook affected passengers on another flight, including those operated by other airlines. Passengers can also choose a refund.

The strike began after Air Canada and its flight attendents failed to agree on the wages. The Canadian union earlier voted for a 72-hour strike from early Saturday local time.
