The Department of Health's Community Dental Support Programme, launched in May this year, is set to be expanded with more services and beneficiaries starting in January 2026.
The current programme targets seniors receiving the old age living allowance as well as low income individuals.
It provides oral examinations, fillings, and tooth extractions. It's served 1,800 people to date.
The new programme adds tooth cleaning, root canal treatment and removable dentures, with a maximum of two services per person, and a 5-year interval between services.
The enhanced programme will replace the Community Care Fund's elderly dental assistance programme, which will be suspended from January 2026 onwards.
