MTR gains an interim profit of 7.7 billion dollars

MTR today announced its interim results for the first six months of the year.
In a press conference, the railway operator said the company recorded a net profit of 7.7 billion dollars for the first half of the year.
For MTR's railway services, the total patronage exceeded 960 million in the six-month period.
Among them, cross-boundary service and high-speed rail saw improvements of 10 percent and 15 percent respectively when compared to the same period in 2024.
MTR said a closer integration between Hong Kong and the mainland contributes to an increased number of passengers on both of these services.
