In response to the Black Rainstorm Warning Signal, the Security Bureau activated the Emergency Monitoring and Support Centre.
Secretary for Security Chris Tang posted a short video on social media, explaining that in various types of emergencies, emergency rescue and relief efforts involve multiple departments.
For example, flooding incidents require the coordination of the Drainage Services Department, Transport Department, Police, Fire Services Department and other departments. The activation of the Emergency Monitoring and Support Centre facilitates the 24-hour, cross-departmental monitoring of the situation and resource deployment.
