China Evergrande Group announced that it will de-list its Hong Kong stock, marking a significant chapter in the company's history.

The Guangzhou-based developer said in a filing to the Hong Kong Stock Exchange that the exchange's listing committee has decided to cancel its listing. The shares will be removed on August 25th.

Evergrande's default in December 2021 was one of the most prominent events in the ongoing property sector downturn. At its peak in 2017, the company was the country's largest property developer by sales with a market value of more than 50 billion U.S. dollars.
