A man accused of placing soft drinks mixed with urine on supermarket shelves appeared in court today. No plea was taken.

The case was adjourned until October and the man's application for bail was denied.

Sixty-three-year-old Lo Kam-ngai, who claimed to be unemployed, appeared at Kowloon City Magistrates' Courts this morning.

He was charged with administering poison or other destructive or noxious thing with intent to injure in a Wellcome supermarket at Nam Cheong Place in Sham Shui Po on August 6th.

A boy drank the contaminated soda bought from the supermarket and felt unwell.
