Nominations for 100 candidates deemed valid for next month's Election Committee by-election

The nomination period for next month's Election Committee by-election closed last Monday. The nominations for 100 candidates and 10 nominated members have been confirmed as valid.
For the 93 seats to be filled in the subsector groups, the Returning Officer received a total of 101 nomination forms. One candidate passed away during the nomination period. After vetting, 100 candidates were deemed valid.
Regarding members nominated by designated bodies, the Returning Officer received eight nomination forms covering 11 nominees.
According to the Electoral Affairs Commission regulations, the vetting committee only needs to confirm whether the nominations are valid.
