The city reported three cases of dengue fever between August 1 and 7th. All are imported.
The Centre for Health Protection (CHP) said the patients had travelled to Cambodia, the Philippines and Thailand during the incubation periods respectively.
As of Thursday, 39 imported dengue fever cases have been recorded so far this year. A total of 161 cases of dengue fever were recorded in 2024, including 156 imported and five local cases.
CHP reminds the public that due to the increase in temperature and rainfall in summer, mosquito infestation might be aggravated in Hong Kong.
And more citizens are travelling to dengue fever-endemic regions more frequently during the summer holiday. With that, CHP says the risk of dengue fever in Hong Kong is increasing.
