Six local animation companies have held the premiere for six AI-assisted animated short films funded by the government.

The six Hong Kong-made animated short films include "The Dream of Helena" and "Nine".

With lengths from about 15 to 20 minutes, each received a maximum subsidy of 850,000 dollars from the government.

The premiere was held at the Hong Kong Arts Centre, where animation companies shared their production experience and the challenges they faced when applying AI technology.

The six animated short films were also showcased in France earlier in the Annecy International Animation Film Festival.

Some of the selected works will be screened at theatres starting late August.
